I am running for the US Congress to end the gridlock in Washington and fight for the middle class. I have been in private industry my entire career, and I do not have any ties to special interests. My only pledge in going to Congress will be my oath of office, and my pledge to work for the people in our district.

I’m a moderate Democrat and believe Congress should be solving the pressing issues of today rather than holding fast to ideologies that lead nowhere. Bring Jobs Home
Our government has a long history of creating jobs and entire industries. In the last 50 years, the United States has created millions of jobs. The Space program in the 60’s spun off thousands of new industries. The internet itself was the creation of government, not big business; and as a result hundreds of thousands of jobs have been created in just the last 10 years. President Obama is right when he wants us to take on Energy Independence. With the governments help, entire new industries will be created along with thousands of new jobs in the private sector. Big solutions require big investments. We did so in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.  Then we stopped. It’s time we get back on track and get America working again. Read more 

Strengthen Medicare
As your Congressman, I’ll make sure our government keeps its promises. We were promised medical care, not a voucher.  I am not willing to let the government break this promise and abandon our seniors when they are counting on this program to be there. 

We can maintain Medicare and strengthen it by eliminating provider fraud, decreasing frivolous law suits, and paying providers more for positive outcomes rather than for unnecessary procedures. These are the actions that I will vote for, because they will ensure America keeps its promise to our seniors. Read more

The Economy
Don’t be misled. Trickle down economics doesn’t work. Giving huge tax breaks to the wealthy and to corporations hasn’t produced one job. Businesses aren’t hiring because the middle class can’t afford to buy their products.  It’s not because businesses are overtaxed or overregulated. The only way to get Americans working again is to strengthen the middle class families so that they are able to purchase things again. If the middle class does not grow and thrive, our economy will continue to suffer.
