A proclamation sent to Congressman McClintock reads as follows:
 
"We, residents of the 4th Congressional District of California, demand that you represent our interests in Congress regarding Medicare. Our demands are simple:

1. Medicare is NOT an entitlement. We worked hard all our lives and paid into Medicare.  
   
2. We demand that Congress not reduce the national debt on the backs of seniors and the Medicare program.
   
3. We are OPPOSED to any efforts to replace Medicare with a voucher system for buying private insurance. AARP and most senior groups are opposed to the voucher system that you voted for in the Ryan budget plan both in 2011 and 2012.
   
4. We oppose candidate Romney’s plan to put $716 billion of unnecessary Medicare spending back into the budget. This action would make Medicare insolvent in 2016 instead of 2024.
   
5. We demand other solutions that keep Medicare intact, and extend the solvency of the program to future generations. 
   
6. We demand that the doughnut hole for Medicare drug coverage be closed."

Join Jack Uppal at the Labor Day Parade and Bazaar in Diamond Springs on Monday, September 3rd!

Located in Downtown Diamond Springs, the Labor Day Bazaar gets underway at 8 am. Come meet Jack at the United Democrats' booth at China Garden Road near Pleasant Valley Road.

Mariposa, on Saturday, September 1 from 10 am - 5 pm. While you're at the fair, be sure to stop by and say hello. Jack looks forward to meeting you!

Jack Uppal, the moderate Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 4th district, will speak at a town hall meeting on Tuesday, August 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the Truckee Tahoe Airport Community Room at 10356 Truckee Airport Road in Truckee, CA. This event is free, and the public is invited to attend and ask questions of Jack. 

Jack’s campaign is focused on “Putting People First,” and bringing prosperity back to our district. “No single party has all the solutions for challenges facing our nation.  We need moderate representatives that are willing to work together to come up with common sense solutions,” says Jack Uppal.

Uppal, 57, is retired from the semiconductor industry where he was an engineer, manager, and an executive. Uppal has no prior political history. He lives with his wife in Lincoln, and is the proud father and step-father to three daughters.

Jack Uppal held a town hall meeting on Wednesday, August 1st at the Mariposa Government Center. The turnout was excellent, and Jack really enjoyed the opportunity to meet everyone. Thanks to those who took the time to come out and learn more about Jack.

On Tuesday, July 10, 2012, several thousand people from around Northern and Central California were sworn in as citizens in a ceremony at Raley Field in West Sacramento. Jack and Kate Uppal joined over a hundred volunteers from across northern California to assist these new citizens with voter registration. Over 300 voter registration cards were completed on site, and many more people promised to complete their registrations at home.
